Robotic Arms for Industrial Robotics

Delta Robotic Arm

We can use Delta robotic arms for performing pick and place tasks. Assembly lines extensively use these robots. Therefore, they have applications in packaging where the arm can pick the items and place at an appropriate position. Even, these robots have applications in the food industry, material handling, cosmetics, machinery, and electronics. These robots have parallel configuration. Kawasaki YF003N is a high speed delta robot that can handle a workload upto 3 Kg.

SCARA Robotic Arm

SCARA or (Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm) are also used in material handling operations. Compliance means the flexibility and selective compliance means that these robots are flexible in the x and y-axis. However, they are rigid in the z-axis. SCARA robots are also high-speed robots, but they are slower than the delta robots. They usually have 4 degrees of freedom and can handle a payload of up to 20 Kg. 3D Printing uses SCARA robots. Other applications of SCARA robots include assembly and pick and place. The duAro1 Robot is a dual-arm SCARA robot that has applications in assembly, machine tending, material handling, sealing, and dispensing.

Palletizing Robots

Palletizing robots have much higher payload capacity. These robots automatically load goods on a pallet for shipping. These robots have more degrees of freedom. Their payload capacity can be more than 1000Kg. For instance, palletizing robots fro Kuka can handle a payload of up to 1300Kg. The common applications of these robots are loading and unloading tasks.

6-Axis Welding Robot

These are the articulated robots with much greater flexibility. These robots perform Arc welding with greater accuracy. These robots have applications in the automotive industry, transportation, construction, and industrial equipment manufacturing. For instance, FANUC ARC Mate 120iD has a payload capacity of up to 25 Kg.
